In Just One Year, Safety Training Awards Trained More Than 33,000 Learners

2018 was a big year for Safety Training Awards and also a record year for certification, with more than 33,000 qualifications and accredited CPD certificates being issued.
STA’s CEO Dave Candler said that these latest figures serve to positively highlight STA’s continual growth across aquatics, lifesaving, first aid and pool plant.
He said: Becoming a CIMSPA awarding organisation partner three years ago has played a significant part in this growth. It was the stepping stone that put us on a level playing field, particularly in the public sector, because it verified that our qualifications and training programmes meet the highest standards. This resulted in us being able to partner with many fantastic organisations and as evidenced by these figures, provide even more training and career opportunities for people.
I now look forward to nurturing all this hard work by further expanding our partnerships and evolving our teaching and coaching qualifications portfolio here in the UK and internationally, including launching our new Pool Lifeguard qualification later on in the year.
For Safety Training Awards, this year has also already got off to a flying start with the launch of the new Straight‑Line Swimming © CPDs and the STA Level 2 Award in Open Water Swimming Coaching qualification becoming the first open water coaching qualification to be endorsed by CIMSPA’s new employer-led coaching professional standard.
