STA is pleased to launch a new Allergies, Anaphylaxis and Asthma CPD. The online programme provides an understanding of allergies, anaphylaxis and asthma and is suitable for anyone wishing to develop their knowledge. It may be particularly useful for first aiders, lifesavers, swimming teachers, tutors and employers, helping them provide safe, effective and compassionate support to people with asthma, allergies or experiencing anaphylaxis.

The launch comes as greater attention is being placed on allergy awareness and emergency preparedness, particularly following the introduction of new statutory allergy safety guidance for schools in England. The new statutory allergy safety guidance for schools in England sets out expectations for staff allergy awareness and emergency preparedness. The new STA Allergies, Anaphylaxis and Asthma CPD covers many of the key areas identified in the guidance and can support schools in fulfilling their allergy awareness training requirements, alongside any additional site-specific training and emergency response arrangements.

The online programme will take approximately 2 hours. There is no assessment at the end but there is a statement of declaration to confirm all information has been read and understood. The programme does not expire and upon successful completion, 0.5 CPD point will be awarded. A certificate of completion will be available to download following successful completion of this programme.
