STA School Teachers Disability Swimming CPD

Following the launch of the STA Award in Aquatic Teaching – Disability Swimming qualification earlier this month, STA is pleased to launch a School Teachers Disability Swimming CPD.
The CPD is aimed at school teachers, assistant teachers and support assistants who work in special education needs schools, and support school swimming lessons.
Learners are already working within the educational school setting and have an established relationship with participants, knowledge of their needs, and ability. Therefore, the content of the CPD covers the pool environment, manual support within the water, essential swimming skills, and stroke adaptations.
The STA School Teachers Disability Swimming CPD can be delivered by STA Disability Swimming tutors and a supporting PowerPoint is available on STA Online.
On successful completion, the learners will gain 1 CPD point and can be delivered in 6 hours with a practical pool session.
The STA Swimming Teacher Code of Practice has also been updated to reflect the new STA Award in Aquatic Teaching Disability Swimming qualification changes. The updated version can be found within STA Online.
